Mt. Kongo (1,125m) is the highest peak in Osaka Prefecture, straddling the border with Nara. Known for its ancient cedar forests and the historic Chihayakusu Shrine, it offers a challenging but rewarding hike with panoramic views of the Yamato Highlands. The summit area features a small weather observatory and souvenir shop.
